Ms. Kathleen King was elected to the Saratoga City Council in 2002 and she is seeking re-election in November 2006. Ms. King was mayor of Saratoga in 2005.

I worked for Applied Materials, Inc. in sales and marketing management positions for over 25 years. I retired from AMAT two years ago to concentrate on the health of our special needs child, Robert, to be able to devote more effort to the Silicon Valley Children’s Hospital Foundation, and to my city council duties.

Professional
I am actively engaged in community service as Chair of the Silicon Valley Children’s Hospital Foundation, a member of the board of Valley Medical Center Foundation, City Year, Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative, Democratic Women’s Forum, a member of the Saratoga Rotary, and a supporter of many other local organizations. I am a member of the Saratoga Monte Sereno Community Foundation, the Saratoga Historical Museum, the League of Women Voters, Sierra Club, Sister City, Friends of the Library, Hakone Foundation, Montalvo, and the Democratic Forum.

Family
I'm a longtime area resident and my children attend local public schools. I live with my husband, Mark Stark, and our children, Marie (17), Allyssa (14), Nick (14), Matt (10), and Robert (10).

Hobbies
I run almost every day, from 2-4 miles each day, mostly around Saratoga.
